Greece strongly supports Montenegro's European integration

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy Nik Gjeloshaj met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness of the Hellenic Republic Kostas Fragogiannis.

Deputy Prime Minister Gjeloshaj welcomed the Greek delegation and emphasised that the two countries have good cooperation which, in the context of Montenegro's further integration into the European Union, can be enhanced in numerous areas of mutual interest.

We view European integration primarily through the lens of deep economic integration and access to a larger market, which is a positive signal for our businesses and those planning to invest in Montenegro, stated Deputy Prime Minister Gjeloshaj.

Fragogiannis emphasised that Greece recognises the commitment of the Government of Montenegro to reforms and expressed strong support for Montenegro's European integration, which, as he highlighted, will provide an additional impetus to the enlargement policy and economic exchange between Montenegro and EU member states.

Investments from EU countries are of particular interest to Montenegro, not only for economic development but also for the values they promote. The Government of Montenegro will be a sincere partner and friend to Greek investors, Deputy Prime Minister Gjeloshaj assured.

During the meeting, discussions revolved around opportunities for cooperation and investment in Montenegro across various sectors of the economy, including green energy, infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, and others.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the officials highlighted the traditionally good relations between Montenegro and Greece and agreed to continue communication and intensify cooperation in areas of common interest.
