City of Henderson, Mayor Romero Honored by Nevada Water Environment Association

HENDERSON, Nev. (March 28, 2024) - The¬¬ City of Henderson is proud to announce that Mayor Michelle Romero and members of the Department of Utilities Services team were recognized with awards from the Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA), a non-profit association dedicated to promoting the advancement of water quality education in Nevada.

NWEA awards recognize dedication to preserving and enhancing the global water environment and promoting the advancement of water quality education in the State of Nevada.

Mayor Romero was named the 2024 Public Official of the Year in recognition of her outstanding work leading the City's H2One program and being a champion for water conservation efforts.

"This recognition is so appreciated, both by me and our hard-working Utility Services team," said Mayor Michelle Romero. "It validates the importance of our efforts to take bold actions to lower our daily consumption of water citywide and increase awareness about how our residents can help. We all share in the benefits of this precious resource, and we also share the responsibility to conserve it."

The City of Henderson's Utility Services Department personnel received multiple recognitions for their work, including the coveted Hatfield and Lifetime Service awards.

Water is an essential and valuable natural resource, which is why the City of Henderson continues to meet and exceed water quality standards through innovative practices while emphasizing the critical need to reduce water consumption through H2One, Henderson's call to conserve.
