City's 2024 Street Resurfacing Program Ready to Begin

MAY 9, 2024 - Beginning Monday, May 13th, 2024, the City of Bettendorf's 2024 Street Resurfacing Program gets underway with its first of five locations scheduled for the year:

In Alphabetical Order

  • Apple Valley Drive (4160 Apple Valley Drive to cul-de-sac)
  • Holmes Street (alley west of 6th Street to 6th Street)
  • Linden Lane (Hillside Drive to Spruce Hills Drive)
  • Tanglewood Road (Sheffield Court to dead end)
  • Weindruch Road (State Street to Devils Glen Park)

"This annual program is part of the City's Pavement Management Program, which started in 2015," said Brent Morlok, City Engineer. "Our street network is one of the City's most important assets, and one that we invest in heavily to ensure that it remains in good working condition for the public. Our Pavement Management Program helps us make objective decisions on how to best allocate Capital Improvement Funding."

The first site to go under construction is Weindruch Road from State Street to Devils Glen Park on May 13th. Resurfacing at this location is expected to take approximately four weeks, weather permitting.

To ensure the safety of the traveling public and the construction workers onsite, Weindruch Road will only be open to local traffic during construction and a detour will be in place (see map below). To access Devils Glen Park, use the park entrance on Devils Glen Road.

As construction wraps up at this first site, the contractor in charge of the 2024 Resurfacing Program will choose the next site. The City will post those updates here.
