The 35th Infantry Division Band, the official band of the Kansas Army National Guard, has announced the schedule for its summer concert series.
The free public summer concert series will be presented in several communities across the state.
The Music Performance Teams of the 35th Division Band and the music each plays include:
§Bullseye Brass - traditional brass
§ Prairie Winds - woodwind quintet
§ High Speed, Low Drag - saxophone quartet
§ Sounds of Freedom - mix of instruments, similar to a brass band
§ Hard to Handle - small rock band
All concerts will last approximately an hour and 15 minutes.
The summer schedule is:
July 3
· Pratt - Pratt County Lake, 2 ½ miles east of Pratt off Highway 64. 7 p.m. American Legion Fireworks Display. Concert Band
July 4
· Dodge City - Boot Hill Casino Parking Lot, 4000 West Comanche Avenue. 7:30-10 p.m. Independence Day celebration, Hard to Handle and Concert Band
July 5
· Jetmore - Pocket Park, Main Street, 7-8:30 p.m. Bullseye Brass, High Speed Low Drag, Prairie Winds, and Sounds of Freedom
July 6
· Hutchinson - Carey Park Zoo, 6 Emerson Loop E, 8 p.m. Concert Band with Community Band
July 7
· Hoisington - Bicentennial Park, Sixth and Monroe, 7 p.m. Concert Band
July 9
· Larned - Moffet Stadium, 704 W 4th St., 7 p.m. Hard to Handle
July 10
· Logan - Logan Manor, 100 Adams St., 1 p.m. Prairie Winds
· Colby - Fike Park, 8th and Franklin, 7 p.m. Sound of Freedom
July 11
· Greensburg - The Movie Theater, 200 S. Main, 7 p.m. Concert Band
July 13
· Fort Hays State Band Camp - Fort Hays State University, 600 Park St, 7 p.m. Concert Band
July 14
· WaKeeney - Trego County Fair, 13th and Russell Ave, 7:30 p.m. Hard to Handle
July 15
· Great Bend - Jack Kilby Square, 1400 Main St., 7 p.m. Concert Band
July 16
· Wichita - Kansas Bandmasters Association, 2098 S. Airport Road, 8 p.m. Concert Band
