On the morning of March 18th, after more than half a year of continuous construction, the left tunnel of Kuntingling Tunnel, the largest multi-arch tunnel under construction in Ningbo, the Liuheng Highway Bridge, was successfully connected, laying a solid foundation for the comprehensive construction of the roadbed and bridge in the future.

The Kuntingling Tunnel is located between Beilun Chaiqiao and Chunxiao, connecting the first and second sections of the Liuheng Highway Bridge Phase I project. It plays a bridging role for the entire Phase I project. In the future, the Liuheng Highway Bridge will achieve direct connection with the Ningbo section of the Hangzhou Ningbo Expressway double track. That is to say, taking the expressway from Liuheng and Meishan will provide direct access to Hangzhou and Shanghai.

It is learned that there are multiple high-voltage power towers and nursery gardens near the construction site, making demolition difficult. In order to save land, the tunnel adopts a double arch structure. That is to say, the two tunnels in the tunnel are tightly connected, forming an M-shaped double hole structure.

According to expectations, the right tunnel of Kuntingling Tunnel will also be connected in June this year, and all tunnel construction will be completed in September.
