Smother in Law premieres its second season on April 12th at Netflix and releases its official trailer →

São Paulo, March 16th, 2023 - Isadir already has a date to turn her family's life upside down… again: on April 12th, premieres the second season of Smother in Law. The comedy, which is Netflix's first Brazilian multi-camera sitcom, entertained and mesmerized the public in Brazil and the world with its first season, peaking at number six on the service's Top 10 Global Non-English Language Series.

Anyone who thought that, with the problems with the law, Isadir (Rodrigo Sant'Anna) would abandon her meddling and troublesome ways, made a big, big mistake. In the new episodes, after spending a few months in prison where she learned WhatsApp scams, made friends and fell in love, the mother in law now finds a news excuse to stay with her son Carlos (Rafael Zulu) and daughter-in-law Alice (Lidi Lisboa): take care of the new grandchild who is on the way! Along with the inseparable Fátima (Solange Teixeira), she will get into bigger troubles, always dragging the whole family with her.

Smother in Lawwas created, scripted and directed by Rodrigo Sant'Anna, who also acts as the protagonist of the series. "In a comedy show, the main difference from one season to the next is that the show gets more mature, funnier. This is because the characters' relationship becomes more consistent and intimacy is strengthened. This season reflects a lot of those opportunities. The outdoor scenes and the number of different places we took Isadir to were also very rich. I'm really excited!"comments Rodrigo.

Produced by Os Suburbanos Produções, the series is directed by Marco Rodrigo and features Pedro Ottoni, Bárbara Sut, Ney Lima, Daniela Fontan and Thaissa Carvalho in the cast
