Tallahassee Police Make Arrest Following Fatal Shooting

On Friday, Sept. 17, the Tallahassee Police Department arrested one male juvenile following a fatal shooting that occurred on Sept. 16 just after 2:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of West Tharpe Street.

Following a thorough investigation, detectives determined the suspect and the victim, who were not known to each other, engaged in a verbal dispute at the victim's residence. The victim subsequently retreated inside his residence to disengage from the arrestee. The arrestee then stepped away from the residence and fired multiple shots into the apartment, striking and killing the victim.

Arrested:

Kelsey Bruton, 17, for second degree murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling and possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
