RUC Establishes Jiangnan RUC Green Development Fund

Renmin University of China (RUC) officially announced the establishment of the Jiangnan RUC Green Development Fund on Feb. 27^th, backed by a donation fund with an initial scale of 2 billion yuan.

The fund aims to support RUC in contributing to China's modernization, promoting ecological civilization, and advancing green development strategies. It will foster a collaborative platform integrating industry, academia, research, and application while cultivating top-tier talent for sustainable development.

The fund will prioritize agricultural green development, rural revitalization, and beautiful countryside construction.

The fund will leverage the expertise of the RUC Institute of Ecological Civilization, School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, School of Chemistry and Life Resources, and School of Ecology and Environment to support the development of related disciplines, research facilities, postdoctoral programs, and academic databases.

It aims to provide intellectual and talent support for sustainable agricultural development, poverty alleviation, rural industrial growth, countryside governance, and overall rural development.

The fund will focus on cutting-edge scientific advancements in carbon technology and economy, agricultural science and technology, ecological engineering, green technologies, artificial intelligence, and smart governance.

It will attract top-tier research talent and drive scientific and technological innovation. Efforts will be made to expand applications of AI, data, and low-altitude technologies, and integrate biotechnology, information technology, and engineering to develop independent and proprietary core technologies.

Additionally, it will enhance farmland protection, disaster prevention, and mitigation capabilities, and strengthen agricultural technology platforms.

The initiative includes establishing agricultural innovation centers and modern agricultural science demonstration bases to facilitate research collaboration, advance technology-driven industries, and improve the technology-to-market transformation process.

Beyond agricultural and environmental advancements, the fund will also support high-level academic exchanges, global competency talent training, public welfare services, and the development of a smart green campus.

It will provide new momentum for the continuous progress of RUC, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, adaptability, and rapid development, ultimately shaping a forward-looking and pioneering educational institution.
