Continuing to combine the latest technologies with the ultimate in convenience, Ooredoo has added a new international remittance service through MoneyGram to pay+, a mobile wallet developed by National Bank of Oman (NBO). Using MoneyGram's worldwide network, users can now send money to over 40 destinations worldwide, quickly and securely, from their phones. What's more, pay+ is waiving its transaction fees for all destinations.

Noor Al Sulaiti, Chief Executive Officer at Ooredoo, said, 'This major, first to market, new development will change the way customers can transfer money. Pay+ was designed with customer needs in mind and together with our partners, NBO and MoneyGram, the ground-breaking mobile wallet continues to set standards in the Sultanate's evolving digital payments ecosystem.'

Abdullah Al Hinai, Chief Executive Officer at National Bank of Oman, said, 'At NBO, we continue to fulfil our promise to offer our customers a more convenient and hassle-free experience. Especially at a time when social distancing is a factor, our digital services give our users more options than ever for managing their money, safely and from the comfort of anywhere. By working with local and international partners such as Ooredoo and Moneygram, pay+ combines the latest technological developments and is one of the many ways we are driving innovation in the banking sector and beyond.'

'Amidst the pandemic, our digital transformation's speed, reliability and convenience mean even more to consumers, and we are doubling down on our efforts to maximize digital driven growth in key send corridors like Oman,' said Ahmed Aly, Head of Middle East at MoneyGram. 'This partnership expansion with Ooredoo, as well as our strong existing relationships in Oman, will help us greatly expand our network in the country so that customers can easily access our services and connect with loved ones around the world.'

Using MoneyGram's worldwide network and the convenience and speed of pay+, the new service enables customers to send money to bank accounts or to cash pick-up locations all over the world, via a single app on their mobile device. Pay+ users can also benefit from a whole host of transactions including bill payments, deposits, money transfers to other wallets, and withdrawals. The service also enables contactless payments at over 3,000 locations all over Oman using QR Code scanning, including OmanOil petrol stations, StarCare hospitals and pharmacies, McDonalds, Caribou cafe, Nesto and Spar supermarkets, Oman United Insurance, Al-Obaidani stores, and many more.

Moreover, robust security features mean that payment information is protected. Frequently updated and enhanced, the easy-to-use service is just one way Ooredoo is ensuring its customers have an awesome digital experience.
