Police Recover Guns, Safe Full of Cash and Drugs From Stolen Trailer in Northlake

Police recovered two handguns and a safe full of cash and drugs after spotting a stolen trailer in Northlake last week.

Around 9 AM on October 14th, patrol officers spotted a camper trailer with drilled-out locks parked in the 2100 block of North Northlake Way.

Officers discovered the trailer had been reported stolen and checked inside, where they found a 54-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman.

Police found the man was carrying more than 20 debit, credit, and ID cards which appeared to belong to other people and discovered two loaded handguns in a backpack in the trailer, along with apparent stolen vehicle keys and modified keys typically used by auto thieves. Officers also recovered a small safe.

Major Crimes Task Force were called out to assist. After obtaining a search warrant for the safe, MCTF discovered it contained over $9,300, 39 grams of heroin, 1,357 pills containing fentanyl, 298 grams of methamphetamine, and 1,240 Xanax pills.

Police identified and released the woman at the scene and booked the man-who has previous felony convictions and is unable to legally possess firearms-into the King County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm and narcotics possession with intent to distribute.
