Argeo visits India’s Ministry of Earth Sciences in Delhi

Last week, a delegation from Argeo met with officials from India's Ministry of Earth Science in relation to the current deep sea mineral exploration project with India's National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research, NCPOR.

The National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR) is India's main R&D institution for Polar and Southern Ocean studies operating independently under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India and specifically tasked with overseeing the national program for surveying and exploring Deep-Sea Minerals in the Indian Exploration Contract area.

Argeo CEO, Mr. Trond Crantz and Dr. Ravichandran engaged in productive talks and discussed Argeo's enthusiasm to collaborate with MoES and NCPOR and support their long-term goals under India's Deep Ocean Mission which aims to support the blue-economy priority areas, blue trade, and blue manufacturing in India.

Argeo is proud to be selected as a key contributor to MoES's flagship project to carry out multi-sensor exploration survey and data analysis to delineate locations of seafloor massive sulphide deposits and map the environment over India's International Seabed Authority (ISA) exploration licenses in the Indian Ocean.

"After insightful conversations with the Ministry of Earth Sciences regarding our collaborative survey project for deep-sea minerals exploration, I am inspired by the shared commitment to pioneering advancements in sustainable resource utilization", says Argeo CEO Trond Crantz. "The collaborative spirit and dedication demonstrated by the Ministry underscore the huge potential for making a positive impact in marine exploration in this region" Crantz continues.
