Reminder: Public meeting for US-24 (Telegraph Road) bridge project near Eureka Road in Wayne County

TAYLOR, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting a public meeting to discuss the upcoming two-year project on US-24 (Telegraph Road) near Eureka Road in Taylor, which will involve closing the US-24/I-75 connector.

Project information:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $50 million to rebuild two structures and improve four structures on US-24 from the US-24/I-75 connector to Mercier Avenue, north of Eureka Road, along with repairs to the US-24 connector between I-75 and Eureka Road.

2024 work (spring-fall)

• The northbound US-24 (Telegraph Road) bridge over the Frank and Poet Drain north of Eureka Road will be replaced.
• Bridge repairs on the northbound US-24 (Telegraph Road)/I-75 connector, along with road repairs.

Northbound US-24 will be reduced to one lane between the US-24/I-75 connector and Mercier Avenue. The northbound I-75/US-24 connector from I-75 to Eureka Road will also be closed.

Detour:

• Northbound I-75 traffic will be detoured to northbound M-39 (Southfield Road), then westbound I-94 to northbound US-24.

2025 work (spring - fall)

• The southbound US-24 (Telegraph Road) bridge over the Frank and Poet Drain will be replaced.
• Bridge repairs on the southbound US-24/I-75 connector, along with road repairs.

Southbound US-24 (Telegraph Road) will be closed betweenMercier Avenue and the US-24/I-75 connector. The southbound US-24/I-75 connector to southbound I-75 will also be closed for repairs.

Detours:

• Southbound US-24 (Telegraph Road)/I-75 connector traffic will be detoured to eastbound I-94, then southbound M-39,to southbound I-75.
• Northbound US-24 (Telegraph Road) will be briefly closed under the southbound US-24 (Telegraph Road)/I-75 connector and detoured via eastbound Pennsylvania Road, northbound Racho Road, and westbound Eureka Road to northbound US-24 (Telegraph Road).
• Southbound I-75/US-24 connector traffic will be detoured to southbound US-24 (Telegraph), then eastbound Dix Toledo Road to southbound I-75.
• During bridge demolition, northbound US-24 (Telegraph Road) traffic under the southbound US-24/I-75 connector will be detoured via eastbound Pennsylvania Road, northbound Racho Road, and eastbound Eureka Road to northbound US-24 (Telegraph Road).
