JAKARTA - The PT Timah contingent that competed in the MIND ID Explorathon succeeded in winning the overall championship in sports, arts and culture, and quiz competitions.

Timah people managed to win six gold medals and four silver medals in the match which took place in Jakarta on Thursday-Friday (25-26/4/2024).

PT Timah sent 75 participants to take part in various competitions such as table tennis, basketball, badminton, football, mobile legend, pantun, quiz, vocal group and band.

"We are grateful to Allah SWT, we also thank the Directors of PT Timah Tbk for their support. Even though the company's conditions are not good, the directors supported us in attending this activity," said Reni Hutagalung, who represented Tins Voice.

"With the company's current condition, we don't have high expectations for this activity, but we continue to practice as much as possible, and thank God we can make a contribution to the company, by winning the championship title," She continued.

Riki Pralayayuda, a Vocalist in Tins Band, said that at first, they were a little worried because the committee does not allow you to bring your own equipment.

"Of course, this is a challenge for the players, where they have very little time for sound checks," he said.

They did not expect to become champions and be able to bring victory to PT Timah.

Meanwhile, Esmond Esmedito Ryan as a badminton athlete is optimistic that his team can win the championship title.

"We are very happy to take part in this event, despite all the shortcomings in our preparation, but we are optimistic that we can give our best," he said.

According to him, this event was more interesting, because they directly represented the company and were paired with a team that usually trains.

"Our hope is that in the future events like this can still be held, and PT Tin can send its talents. Apart from that, with this event, it will also be a gathering place for employees in other MIND ID holding members, as well as a place to exercise together," he said.

Likewise, Arfani, one of the athletes from Table Tennis, was grateful for the victory he achieved.

"Thank God, for this sporting event I represented the sport of table tennis, and have represented the company several times from 2019 until this year. In the table tennis men's doubles category, thank God we won first place," he explained.

Even though they had to beat a difficult opponent from Inalum, they were grateful to be the best.

"Our hope is for PT Timah people, with the sports facilities available at the company, Timah people who want to join in this table tennis sport will be welcome. Apart from improving performance, it is also a place for friendship and also maintaining health," he said.

He said, this event is also a place for collaboration between MIND ID people, where in every match they support each other during the match. Apart from that, they were also very impressed with the match against representatives from Inalum.

Meanwhile, in the E-sports branch, the PT Timah contingent had to go home empty-handed. E-sports Coordinator Khoiril Yuniar hopes that E-sports can be held in a large enough room because the conditions in the match room are less effective.

"Not without reason, with the narrow room conditions, coordination between teams was discovered. Of course, this is homework for the committee in the future," he said.

In the future, he hopes that facilities and infrastructure will also be further improved, such as microphones and earphones can also be facilitated, so that the opposing team cannot hear each team's strategy.

"To Timah people in the region and at the center, you can join in E-sports, with the hope that in the future we won't be the only ones who will be company representatives in taking part in the event. The main thing is, don't feel inferior. The point is that we are giving the best for PT Timah," he said. (*)
