Raleigh-Wake 911 Center Wants Your Feedback

The Raleigh-Wake Emergency Communications Center is asking the public for feedback on how the center delivers public safety services. The deadline to provide feedback is Wednesday, April 30. Asking residents for comments is an annual requirement for the center's accreditation process.

The center is looking to receive comments regarding its:

• Compliance with CALEA standards (please see below)
• Engagement in the service community
• Delivery of public safety services

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. (CALEA) administers the accreditation program. The program requires agencies to comply with specific standards in seven basic areas. They are:

• Organization
• Direction and supervision
• Human resources
• Recruitment, selection and promotion
• Training
• Operations
• Critical incidents, special operations, and Homeland Security

How Can I Provide Comments?

The comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The intent of the accreditation process is to provide the center with information to support continuous improvement. It can also help with the pursuit of professional excellence.
