B-3 Anti-Crime Unit Arrests Suspects Linked to Neighborhood Package Thefts

At approximately 9:20 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, members of the B-3 (Mattapan) Anti-Crime Unit apprehended Mark Graham, aged 57, of Boston, and Manee Ruiz, aged 49, of Dorchester.

Officers were engaged in an ongoing investigation in the vicinity of Washington St and Morse St, responding to recent community grievances regarding a surge in package thefts within the neighborhood. While patrolling the area, officers spotted a male individual, Mr. Graham, who matched the description of a suspect involved in previous package thefts. Upon encountering Mr. Graham accompanied by Ms. Ruiz, officers halted the suspects and, following a brief inquiry, verified their involvement and subsequently placed them under arrest. Further investigation revealed that Ms. Ruiz was subject to two active warrants. Upon searching the suspects, officers uncovered several items confirmed to have been stolen in the aforementioned incidents.

Graham was arrested and charged with Larceny from a Building, Receiving Stolen Property, and Possession of Burglarious Tools. Ruiz was found to have warrants from Boston Municipal Court for Larceny and from Cambridge District Court for Shoplifting, 3rd Offense. Both individuals are slated for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
