Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has been suspended for two matches by the DFB Sports Court as a consequence of his sending-off for a foul in the match against Werder Bremen. The 29-year-old will therefore not be available for BVB's upcoming home game against Frankfurt (Sunday at 17:30 CET) and the away game in Munich (30 March at 18:30 CET).
During the 2-1 victory last weekend, Sabitzer was shown a red card and dismissed from the field of play by referee Deniz Aytekin following a foul on Bremen's Mitchell Weiser in stoppage time at the end of the first half.
The verdict in full: "The Sports Court of the German Football Association (DFB) has imposed a suspension of two league matches in the licensed leagues on Marcel Sabitzer of Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund in individual judgement proceedings following a charge of foul play against the opponent by the DFB Control Committee. Moreover, the player is additionally banned from all of his club's other league matches until the ban expires."
