Amber 'Serpent' Vase Highlights Lalique Selections in Tiffany, Lalique & Art Glass Auction

DALLAS, Texas (October 21, 2021) - A rare R. Lalique Serpent Amber Glass Vase (estimate: $20,000-$30,000) will slither across the auction block and into a new collection this month.

Heritage Auctions broke the world auction record for the Serpent vase in amber glass in 2010, when an example sold for $56,762.50, and endeavors to break it once more during its Tiffany, Lalique & Art Glass: Including Art Nouveau & Art Deco auction Oct. 28.

"The amber Serpent vase is one of three examples in the model - the other two in frosted clear glass - to be offered in our upcoming auction, with perhaps our best selection ever of Lalique," Heritage Auctions Senior Vice President of Special Collections Nick Dawes said. "Also among the highlights are several fresh-to-market rarities drawn from a Midwestern estate."

Other noteworthy R. Lalique lots include:

• An R. Lalique Electric Blue Glass Perruches Vase, circa 1919 (estimate: $8,000-12,000)
• An R. Lalique Opalescent Glass Suzanne Statuette With Illuminated Bronze Base, circa 1925 (estimate: $6,000-8,000)
• A Rare R. Lalique Clear Glass Hélène Clock with Sepia Patina, circa 1931 (estimate: $4,000-6,000)

Works produced by Lalique following the death of founder René Lalique in 1945 are also represented, including:

• A Lalique Clear and Frosted Glass Cactus Center Table by Marc Lalique, designed 1951 (estimate: $20,000-$30,000)
• A Rare Limited Edition Lalique Clear and Frosted Glass Rolls Royce Spirit of Ecstasy Mascot, circa 1994 (estimate: $5,000-7,000)
• A Limited Edition Lalique Black Glass Nude Aphrodite Sculpture in Original Wheeled Crate, 2008 (estimate: $3,000-4,000)
