Election Inspector Requirements
Are you interested in learning more about elections? Apply to be an Election Inspector and get paid to be part of the democratic process! It's also a great way to get involved in the community and meet new people.

Requirements:
Positions
Precinct Inspectors: assigned to one of the 40 precincts located within the City of Sterling Heights. Election Day shift starts at 6:00 AM to approximately 9:00 PM (with breaks). Inspectors set up the precinct, process and assist voters, close the polls and clean up. This position pays $220.00/day.
Receiving BoardInspectors: work in pairs (one Republican and one Democrat) to check paperwork returned at the end of the night from precincts; Receiving Board shifts start at 7:30 PM to approximately 11:00 PM.
Early Vote Site Inspector: The City of Sterling Heights has two Early Vote sites - Community Center and Chaldean Community Foundation. These sites operate just like a precinct but have daytime hours (8:30am-5:30pm) and are open for 9 days prior to Election Day.
Election Intern Requirements
Are you 16 or 17 years of age and interested in getting involved in elections? The City of Sterling Heights hires Election Interns! Apply above and get paid for community service.
Requirements:
Election Day hours are 10:00 am - 8:00 pm and work assignments will be located at a precinct in Sterling Heights. Interns are paid $150/day.
