BPD in the Community: Boston Police Officers Visit the Eliot School to Celebrate AAPI Heritage Month

As we celebrate AAPI heritage month, our officers will participate in a series of readings throughout the City of Boston.

This time around, officers visited the Elliot School in the North End with our partners at ReadBoston and the Lingzi Foundation.

Our officers visited with several kindergarten classrooms and read a story about determination and passion. "The Paper Son" is about Tyrus Wong and tells the inspiring story of his immigrating to America and becoming a famed artist and illustrator for Disney and Warner Bros..

After the reading, students asked the officers about themselves and being a police officer. It was a great chance for everyone to get to know each other!

Copies of the book were provided to all the classrooms. We can't wait to visit with more schools this month!
