Minister Zbigniew Rau meets with his counterpart from North Macedonia

On 17 January 2023, Minister Zbigniew Rau held talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani, who assumed the post of Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe on 1 January. Minister Osmani travelled to Warsaw directly after his visit to Ukraine.
The heads of diplomacy of Poland and North Macedonia discussed the current situation related to the Russian aggression against Ukraine, in particular the situation of civilian population affected by brutal Russian attacks. They also talked about the OSCE agenda in the context of North Macedonia taking over the chair of the Organization. Minister Rau expressed his support for the priorities of the new chairmanship, including for keeping the focus on the war in Ukraine and on the assistance for civilians in conflict zones. Both priorities were also on the top of Poland's agenda in the Organization in 2022. The foreign ministers also spoke about cooperation within the OSCE Troika, of which Poland is a member this year.
