The event “Conferenza degli Addetti scientifici e spaziali e degli Esperti agricoli 2024” kicks off today in Turin

The Conferenza degli Addetti scientifici e spaziali e degli Esperti agricoli 2024 - "L'Italia tecnologica motore dell'internazionalizzazione" (The 2024 Conference of Science, Space and Agriculture Experts - 'Technological Italy as a driver of internationalisation') - kicks off today at the Castello del Valentino in Turin and will be held on 21, 22 and 23 April.

"Scientific Diplomacy is an extraordinary tool for supporting Italy's growth, strengthening its competitiveness, and promoting Italy as an innovative country," commented Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, who highlighted the role played by the network of 53 science and space experts and 8 agriculture experts as a tool for promoting the Italian System abroad.

The conference will include an institutional session open to the press on 23 April at 11:30 a.m. Speakers at the session will include Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani, Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini, Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida, Minister of the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, Undersecretary of State to the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy Fausta Bergamotto, the President of the Piedmont Region Alberto Cirio, the Mayor of Turin Stefano Lo Russo, and the Rector of the Polytechnic University of Turin Stefano Paolo Corgnati.

The event will also feature a packed programme of meetings, spread over the three days, on strategic themes and sectors for Italy's competitiveness: artificial intelligence, aerospace, technology transfer, innovation and start-ups, and technologies applied to agriculture. The aim of the event is to offer an opportunity for exchange between the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the network of experts working at the Italian Embassies abroad, and the main Italian companies in the fields of science, research and innovation.
