Fort Fest 2024: A Celebration of 300 Years of Defending the Southeast

St. Simons Island, GA: Fort Frederica National Monument is happy to announce that on May 4th, 2024, from 10:00am to 3:00pm, we will be hosting the first ever Fort Fest! Join exhibitors from Forts and Historical Parks from around Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida to celebrate over 300 years of Southeast coastal defense history.

Throughout the day there will be programs to take visitors throughout the history of the coastal Southeast, from the 1700s to the present! Learn the history of this region from a wide variety of sites including Fort Pulaski National Monument, Old Fort Jackson, Ninety-Six National Historic Park, 3rd Infantry Division Museum Fort Stewart, Fort McAllister, Cumberland Island National Seashore, and Fort Mose!

Visitors of all ages are invited to take part in family friendly activities at multiple tents throughout the park. At the top of every hour there will be a formal presentation discussing the history of each one of the sites in attendance, as well as black powder demonstrations at the bottom every hour!

Join us to take in this showcase of the history of all these local and amazing places at Fort Frederica National Monument.
