School of Performing Arts presents "First Date"

Thursday & Friday, April 11 & 12 | 7:30 p.m. | Roland Dille Center for the Arts Gaede Stage

MSUM's School of Performing Arts will present "First Date" on Thursday and Friday, April 11 and 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts Gaede Stage.

When blind date newbie Aaron is set up with serial dater Casey, a casual drink at a busy New York restaurant turns into a hilarious high-stakes dinner. As the date unfolds in real time, the couple quickly finds they are not alone on this unpredictable evening. In a delightful and unexpected twist, Casey and Aaron's inner critics take on a life of their own when other restaurant patrons transform into supportive best friends and manipulative exes, who sing and dance them through icebreakers, appetizers and potential conversational land mines.

"The show is guaranteed to make you laugh with its witty dialogue and clever lyrics," said Craig Ellingson, a professor and co-chair in the School of Performing Arts.

MSUM students Rhianna Folk and Caleb McKenzie play Casey and Aaron, the lead roles. They are supported by the ensemble featuring Victoria Proulx, Ryan Stangl, Jerry Long, Grace Grenier, Elizabeth Eggl, and Averi Benson. MSUM faculty Jenny DuFault and Craig A. Ellingson also grace the stage in cameo appearances.

Tickets, $10 for adults and $8 for students, are available at mnstate.edu/tickets.
