Total income of energy group CEZ board members at Kc135m in 2023

Prague, May 23 (CTK) - Seven members of the board of directors of energy group CEZ earned a total of almost Kc135m in 2023, same as in 2022, with the largest amount of Kc34.98m, 1 percent less yr/yr, going to board head and CEO Daniel Benes, the invitation to the company's June general meeting published today shows.

Semi-state CEZ saw a net profit of approximately Kc29.6bn last year.

Board deputy chairman Pavel Cyrani received Kc21.25m and CFO Martin Novak earned Kc20.48m.

New energy division head Tomas Pleskac earned Kc14.6m, Bohdan Zronek, director of the nuclear power division, over Kc14.7m, and Michaela Chaloupkova, director of the administration section, Kc14.7m.

Over Kc14.6m went to Jan Kalina, who is the youngest in terms of seniority, having joined the board in 2021 and replaced Ladislav Stepanek.

The CEZ's general meeting is to be held on Monday, June 24, in Prague, the company said in the invitation. It proposes to distribute 80 percent of last year's adjusted profit of Kc34.8bn in dividends. The proposed dividend is thus equivalent to Kc52 per share and a total of Kc28bn.

Shareholders can submit their own counterproposal to the dividend. Last year, the state, as the largest shareholder, did so by pushing for the payout of the full profit. The final dividend amount will be decided by the general meeting.

CEZ group ranks among the largest energy companies in the Czech Republic. CEZ's majority shareholder is the state, which holds about 70 percent of the shares through the Finance Ministry.
