Rustam Bakoyan meets with Head of Delegation of International Committee of Red Cross in Armenia Thierry Ribaux

On August 11, the Acting Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs Rustam Bakoyan received the Head of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Armenia Thierry Ribaux and the Communications Manager Zara Amatuni.

During the meeting, Rustam Bakoyan underscored that there have been difficult times for our country and people recently and highlighted the humanitarian mission of the ICRC in solving a number of problems. The Deputy Chair of the Committee raised the case of the kidnapping of a 68-year-old citizen of Nagorno-Karabakh Vagif Khachatryan by Azerbaijan, who was being transferred to Armenia for treatment under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and inquired about the details of the process of transferring him to Armenia, expecting the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross in this matter.

Thierry Ribaux explained the ICRC's work and procedures regarding visiting detained persons and maintaining contact between them and their families.

At the meeting, the specifics of the activity of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Armenia in this phase and humanitarian issues were discussed.
