THE POWER OF PRIMITIVE AND ANCESTRALAFRICAN HERITAGE

ART EXHIBITION

THE SYMBOLIC AND AUTHENTIC

Join us for a unique exhibit highlighting Magni Marianne Bema's collection

of Art, Textiles and Fashions of Grassified Peoples in Cameroon, Bridging the Arts

in the United States and Africa.

Malibu's Magni Marianne Gisele Bema will exhibit fifty works of original

Bamileke ethnicity art, textiles, fashions and artifacts from Cameroon from January 21 - 28

at De Frens, 790 Hampshire Rd., Suite B, Thousand Oaks, Ca. 91361.

The unique, professionally curated exhibit thrilled crowds at the Chemin des

Chiefdoms, as part of the Cameroonian season at the Musée du Quai Branly

Jacques Chirac in Paris in the Summer of 2022.

On show are nearly 50 works of art from grassified peoples in Cameroon

and Africa. The event will highlight visible works and the invisible traditions

behind them. Objects de art include displays of visual arts, costume designers,

culinary traditions, photographic works, and musical instruments with a strong link

with the Bamileke traditions.

The objective of the exhibition is to inventory grassfield works that have

arrived in one way or another, in the United States. The curator of the exhibition

intends by these historical objects to trace the link between these ancient

masterpieces that continue to inspire contemporary art and to celebrate the heritage

of grassified peoples in the United States. The exhibited Cameroonian arts have

inspired artists, including Picasso, Gauguin, Matisse and recently, La Maison

Hermès. Attendees are invited to gather amidst the masterpieces and enjoy dialog

about the ancestral objects, including masks, royal fabrics, beaded objects, and to

enjoy dance, music and storytelling. Join us and taste authentic Bamieleke traditional cuisine and spices.
