Federal Emergency Management Agency Designates 15 Colorado Counties as Primary Natural Disaster Areas

This Presidential disaster declaration allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend much-needed emergency credit to producers recovering from natural disasters through emergency loans. Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts. FSA will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability.

Impacted Area: Colorado

Triggering Disaster: Severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes

Application Deadline: July 1, 2024

Primary Counties Eligible:Arapahoe, Baca, Cheyenne, Douglas, Elbert, El Paso, Jefferson, Kiowa, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Logan, Prowers, Teller, and Washington

Contiguous Counties Also Eligible:

Colorado: Adams, Arapahoe, Bent, Boulder, Broomfield, Clear Creek, Crowley, Denver, Fremont, Gilpin, Kiowa, Las Animas, Morgan, Otero, Park, Phillips, Pueblo, Sedgwick, Teller, Washington, Weld, and Yuma

Kansas: Cheyenne, Greeley, Hamilton, Morton, Sherman, Stanton, and Wallace

Nebraska: Cheyenne and Kimball

New Mexico: Union

Oklahoma: Cimarron
