Investigation underway after serious crash - St Marys

Investigation underway after two people were critically injured in a crash in Sydney's west this morning.

About 3.20am (Friday 26 April 2024), emergency services were called to Christie Street, St Marys, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached Nepean Police Area Command attended to find a Hyundai Getz had crashed into a parked truck and trailer.

The Hyundai driver, a 38-year-old woman and 5-year-old passenger were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

They were transported to Westmead Hospital and the Childrens Hospital at Westmead respectively, where they both remain in critical conditions.

A crime scene was established and forensically examined by specialist officers attached to the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

An investigation is now underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
