The Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Akif Çağatay Kılıç, met with Member of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany and Co-Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), Lars Klingbeil and his accompanying delegation at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. (GNAT)

The Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Kılıç spoke in the meeting and thanked Germany for the solidarity after Kahramanmaraş centered earthquakes and stated, "Germany is a very special country for Türkiye."<_o3a_p>

Akif Çağatay Kılıç also noted that two months later, Türkiye will experience active days due to the presidential and parliamentary general elections.<_o3a_p>

The Chairman of the Visiting German Delegation, Lars Klingbeil said that they went to the earthquake region and made examinations in Gaziantep's Nurdağı district and saw the great destruction on site. Klingbeil stated that they experienced great sadness due to the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş. Noting that Türkiye is a very special country for Germany, Klingbeil said, "The disaster in Türkiye has also penetrated Germany."<_o3a_p>

Noting that they knew the importance of the May 14 elections, Klingbeil added that the cooperation between the two countries should be increased regarding the war in Ukraine, climate change and migration problem.<_o3a_p>
