Colorado Artists, Printmaking Coming to Greeley's Tointon Gallery

GREELEY, Colo. - March is the Month of Printmaking (Mo'Print) and this biennial event celebrates the art of making original, hand-crafted prints to inspire, educate and promote awareness throughout Colorado.

As part of Mo'Print, Greeley's Tointon Gallery is hosting "Changing Landscapes: Transformative Observations Through Printmaking" from March 22 through April 26, with an artists' reception on March 22 from 5-7 p.m. The exhibition will help gallery visitors learn about the major printmaking processes while exploring the artwork of Colorado artists who delve into themes of changing landscapes.

About the Exhibit

In a world that is rapidly changing and presenting humans with new climate disasters more often, artists examine altered landscapes and how it affects them directly. From garden soil and invasive species to wildfires in backyards and animal survival, "Changing Landscapes: Transformative Observations Through Printmaking" challenges each of us to be more aware of the world around us.

This exhibit will also feature an educational component of various materials used in printmaking techniques to illuminate the many processes. Featured artists include: Rhiannon Alpers, Jennifer Ghormley, Theresa Haberkorn, Johanna Mueller, Ashley Nason, Sarah Wallace Scott and Melanie Yazzie.

The Tointon Gallery

Located at 651 10th Avenue, just inside the Greeley Recreation Center, The Tointon Gallery provides community members with opportunities to experience the visual arts and enjoyment and education from thought provoking discussion. The gallery features up to 12 different exhibits each year - with opportunities to meet and ask questions of the artists - and is often open and accessible during evening performances at the Union Colony Civic Center.
