PennDOT Reopens I-95 North Following Conrail Overhead Bridge Repair in Northeast Philadelphia

04/06/2024

Philadelphia, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has reopened northbound Interstate 95 approaching the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange in Northeast Philadelphia following the completion of overhead bridge repair by Conrail. The northbound lanes had been closed since Monday night, April 1, after a tractor-trailer struck a Conrail bridge over the interstate earlier in the day.

I-95 North approaching the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange was reduced to a single lane immediately following the crash before the interstate was closed just after 10:00 PM Monday night for cleanup and repair operations by Conrail's contractor.

In addition to I-95 North reopening today, the ramp from Castor Avenue to I-95 North has also reopened to traffic.
