Stairway to Heaven - A new Step in Sustainable Production

The "Stairway to Heaven" replaces an older stack installed back in 1995 and is a part of a broader strategy to enhance energy efficiency across our operations.

The previous system, connected to gas turbines, was primarily used to generate steam for drying ovens and provide electricity and heating. However, recognizing the environmental costs of gas-powered production, Hartmann has taken a decisive step forward.

The new stack is linked to a state-of-the-art boiler with 10% higher efficiency, thereby cutting down on gas usage and emissions. Such advancements underline our pledge to halve CO2e emissions by 2030, reinforcing our role as a frontrunner in sustainable industrial practices.

The Creative Side of Industrial Innovation

Beyond the technical enhancements, the "Stairway to Heaven" stack stands out with its visually striking design. Engineered by Hartmann's own Graphic Design Service, the stack features a light, friendly blue hue overlaid with a UV-resistant film to prevent color fading.

This choice of design was democratically selected by our employees, with 170 participants casting their vote for this uplifting and symbolic artwork.

The name and design of the stack metaphorically represent the aspirations and ethos of Hartmann - a continuous journey towards better, more sustainable practices, and a workplace where diversity, creativity, and employee satisfaction are cherished.
