Mar 29, 2024 Empowering Sustainability: The Green Revolving Fund at CSUCI

March 29, 2024 - The Sustainability program at CSUCI launched a Green Revolving Fund in 2023, a resource that unlocks funding for students and employees to propose and implement new sustainability initiatives. The fund drives tangible environmental benefits and fosters a culture of stewardship and responsibility at CSUCI.

The Green Revolving Fund can be used for water and energy saving efforts, like upgrading to high-efficiency lighting, installing water-saving shower heads, replacing energy-intensive equipment, and other utility saving projects. This new fund is opening doors for more people to contribute to the campus' sustainability goals while making a tangible and personal impact.

Projects submitted for consideration must meet specific standards and show clear energy or water savings to reduce utility expenses. These projects should be implemented on campus, not elsewhere. Additionally, they must be capable of repaying 120% of the loan amount within five years, indicating their effectiveness in saving money.

All students, faculty, and staff are eligible and encouraged to apply by the April 15 deadline. To learn more and apply for funds, visit the Green Revolving Fund website or email Sustainability at CSUCI at [email protected].
