Expat Professionals and Students living in Finland: Join EK's network

The Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) invites professionals and students who have relocated to Finland to join the International Business Club (IBC). Chaired by Siamäk Naghian, CEO of Genelec, this network unites expatriate professionals from various fields with Finnish influencers in business and politics. This fall, a pilot mentoring program for international students will be launched.

Operating within Finland's leading business organisation Finnish Industries EK, the IBC provides a platform for professionals recruited from around the world to discuss Finland's current economic and business policy issues with EK. Together, we explore ways to make Finland more international and boost international business activities. Siamäk Naghian CEO of Genelec, serves as the chairman of the IBC network.

IBC also offers participants the opportunity to network with key players in Finnish business and politics. In May, Science and Culture Minister Sari Multala and Marimekko CEO Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko were guests at IBC, brainstorming with us new strategies to attract international talent and improve their experience in Finland. The event was attended by ambassadors from various countries and foreign students.

Student Mentoring Program to be launched

IBC's next initiative relates to a mentoring program designed for international students, which EK is preparing in collaboration with its member companies.

The idea is to develop a platform that helps foreign students gain knowledge about Finland, receive career coaching, and peer support from international professionals who are already integrated into the Finnish workforce. At the same time, companies will have the opportunity to offer career possibilities to these international talents.

The goal is to launch a pilot of the mentoring program this fall in the Helsinki metropolitan area. More information will be provided to the entire IBC network after the summer.
