It's that time of year again! Earth Day Napa 2024 will be held on Saturday, April 20^th from 11am to 4pm. Hosted by the Environmental Coalition of Napa County (EECNC), this year's event will showcase climate actions that everyone can take to help meet the City of Napa's net zero climate pollutant goal by 2030. People of all ages can explore local organizations and businesses through hands-on displays, games, and crafts, learning about climate action, alternative energy, watershed health, pollution prevention, conservation, local stewardship opportunities, and much more.

While the focus is on environmental education, prepare for a good time and a lively atmosphere! Live performances from Rock Busters, Shadow Six, Napa School of Music's Garage Band, and more will continue throughout the day. In addition to live entertainment, there will be delicious local food, beer, and wine. The sale of beer from Napa Palisades and Tannery Bend, and wine donated by Napa Green, will raise funds to support EECNC's Field Trip Bus Grant Program and the Darcy Aston Environmental Advocacy Scholarship. The Bus Grant allows Napa County students to visit sites such as Skyline Park, Connolly Ranch, Carolyn Parr Nature Center, and Bothe State Park. The $1,000 Aston Scholarship is awarded to four graduating high school seniors planning to pursue studies in the environmental sciences.

In the spirit of Earth Day, ride your bike to the Oxbow Commons and take advantage of free bike valet parking provided by the Napa County Bicycle Coalition. To help make this a zero-waste event, bring your own reusable water bottle and stop by the "Water Bar" filling station. There will be no bottled water for sale. Dogs are welcome at Earth Day Napa but must be leashed.

Throw on some gloves, grab a bucket, and join the Napa County Resource Conservation District at several sites throughout Napa and beyond to pick up litter from our creeks and river.
