Dates announced for 2021 World Group I and World Group II ties

The ITF has today announced the dates for the rearranged Davis Cup by Rakuten World Group I and World Group II ties, which were originally scheduled for September 2020.

The 24 home-and-away ties, which involve 48 teams, will be played during either the week commencing 1 March 2021 or the week commencing 13 September 2021. All Davis Cup ties played in 2021 will be subject to strict health and safety protocols.

Of the 24 ties, seven will be played on either Friday 5-Saturday 6 March or Saturday 6-Sunday 7 March 2021. Venues have been announced for six of these ties (see below), with the venue for Argentina's World Group I tie against Belarus to be announced in early 2021. Venezuela's World Group II tie against South Africa will be played on neutral ground, following the Davis Cup Committee's decision that the tie could not be played in Venezuela due to security concerns.

A further 16 ties will be played during the week commencing 13 September 2021, with exact dates and venues for each tie to be confirmed in due course.

The Davis Cup Committee has reversed choice of ground for the World Group II tie between Mexico and Bulgaria. Bulgaria will now host the tie and an announcement on dates and venue will follow in 2021.
