Weekly COVID-19 News Briefings to End

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The City of Corpus Christi and Nueces County announce the 5:00 p.m. COVID-19 news briefings are ending as the recent COVID-19 surge has declined.

The City of Corpus Christ and Nueces County Public Health District will continue to monitor the latest COVID-19 developments and will hold news briefings to inform the public should the need arise.

Residents can still find the latest COVID-19 information by visiting the City's website at www.cctexas.com/coronavirus, by following the City's social media channels, including Facebook @citygov and Twitter @cityofcc, or by visiting the Nueces County website at www.nuecesknows.com.

The briefings began in March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and since then,146 live broadcasts have aired. The briefings provided residents with updates on the number of positive Nueces County COVID-19 cases, the number of COVID-19 related deaths, and information on the vaccination clinics available in our area.

Speakers included Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo, Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales, City Manager Peter Zanoni, Public Health Director Annette Rodriguez, and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi COVID-19 Task Force headed by Dr. Chris Bird.
