Sarbanes Announces Committee Assignments for 118th Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) today appointmentto the House Committee on Energy and Commerce for the 118th Congress.

On the Energy and Commerce Committee, the Congressman will serve as a member of the House Subcommittees on Health; Environment, Manufacturing and Critical Minerals; and Energy, Climate and Grid Security.

He will also continue to lead on efforts to strengthen democracy and protect the Chesapeake Bay.

"It is an honor to serve alongside Chairman Pallone and my colleagues on the Energy and Commerce Committee. In the 117th Congress, our Committee successfully put forward legislation to combat the COVID-19 pandemic; lower drug prices for seniors; expand access to primary and mental health care; establish ARPA-H to lead groundbreaking health research; make historic investments in clean energy, environmental justice efforts, and climate resilience; and enhance our nation's manufacturing industry," said Congressman Sarbanes.

He continued, "The 118th Congress presents new opportunities to build on that progress by addressing rising costs for American families, expanding access to health care and investing in clean energy. I will continue working to advance strong, bipartisan legislation that lifts up our communities and protects our environment."
