'I am so thrilled to bring on Dalton as our assistant women's volleyball coach,' said Wood. 'Dalton has had many successes coaching at the Division III level and will bring a wealth of knowledge to our program!'
A 2017 graduate from Robert Morris University in Chicago, Tucker was a star libero for the Eagles. During his playing career, he was a three-time First Team All-CCAC selection, a six-time NAIA National Libero of the Week and an Honorable Mention All-American.
After graduation, he was hired to be an assistant coach at the University of Illinois Springfield, helping the Prairie Stars engineer an 11-win improvement in the 2017 season. Following that season, Tucker was hired by Grinnell College and was on the sidelines as the Pioneers finished second in the Midwest Conference in 2018. He came back to this area last season with MacMurray while continuing to coach Springfield Shock VBC, a position he began in 2017, and led the club team to a second-place finish at the AAU National Championships.
'I am very excited to be joining the Lady Blues volleyball family,' Tucker said. 'I want to thank and the hiring committee for giving me this amazing opportunity. I can't wait to get started and continue to build on the current success that is already underway.'
Coming off of back-to-back seasons with more than 20 wins and consecutive MWC Tournament appearances, Illinois College heads into 2020 with high expectations. The year begins with a tri-match on Sept. 1 at Illinois Wesleyan University. The Lady Blues make their home debut with the Illinois College Invitational on Sept. 4-5 and host a total of 10 matches in Sherman Gymnasium this season.
