Just one week after winning the New Jersey GOP primary for governor, Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli has been caught illegally raising money for his campaign. Yesterday, the New Jersey Democratic State Committee filed a formal complaint with the Election Law Enforcement Commission against Ciattarelli for violating campaign finance regulations.
'Jack Ciattarelli has been caught red-handed improperly trying to raise money for his campaign in violation of laws that protect the taxpayer-funded gubernatorial matching funds program,' said NJDSC Executive Director Saily Avelenda. 'Apparently, Assemblyman Ciattarelli doesn't think the rules apply to him.'
This isn't the first time Ciattarelli's morals have come into question. Ciattarelli headlined a 'Stop the Steal' rally in Trump's honor in the weeks that led up to the deadly January 6th insurrection. His primary campaign was driven by desperate attempts to win over Trump's New Jersey base, and he's been running scared ever since.
'Jack Ciattarelli has just shown that he is not only a liar but a cheater as well,' said DGA Senior Communications Advisor Christina Amestoy. 'He embraced Trump's 'Big Lie,' which led to a violent insurrection, and now he's violating the law himself. Ciattarelli has no respect for the law, ethics, or the people of New Jersey. New Jerseyans deserve better.'
