Jodi Whitted Appointed Ohio's 28th House District Representative

COLUMBUS - House Democrats today announce the swearing-in of Rep. Jodi Whitted (D -Madeira) to represent Ohio's 28th House District, after the resignation of former State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda last month.

"I am honored to join the Ohio House Democratic Caucus as state representative for the 28th House District," said Rep. Whitted. "As a social worker, mother, and educator, I am confident in my ability to deliver positive change to my constituents. I want to thank Minority Leader Russo, former state Representative Jessica E. Miranda, and the House Minority Caucus for putting their faith in me."

As a social worker with both a Bachelors and Masters degree in social work, Rep. Whitted has dedicated her life to serving others. Her early career was spent working with children and families to strengthen bonds, address trauma, and develop health coping and communication. After transitioning to work in the medical field with individuals with chronic health conditions, Rep. Whitted further recognized the importance of education and policy, specifically how it directly impacts people in their day-to-day lives.

Rep. Whitted is an assistant professor on the Educator Track at the University of Cincinnati and serves as the Bachelor of Social Work -Distributed Learning program director and is taking leave to focus full time on working for the constituents of District 28.

Leader Russo today welcomed Rep. Whitted to the Ohio House Minority Caucus.

"I am thrilled to have Dr. Jodi Whitted as the representative for Ohio's 28th House District and welcome her to the Ohio House Democratic Caucus as our newest member," said Leader Russo. "Dr. Whitted brings exceptional experience both personally and professionally, which will greatly serve her constituents. Rep. Whitted's committee assignments will be announced in the near future.
