Audacy Podcasts and Amy Poehler's Paper Kite Podcasts Launch Improvised Podcast Series 'Women Talkin' 'Bout Murder'

PHILADELPHIA, PA - May 8, 2024 - Audacy Podcasts today announced the launch of "Women Talkin' 'Bout Murder," an improvised comedy podcast series starring writers, producers, and actresses Liz Cackowski and Emily Spivey as true crime podcast hosts Donna and Jobeth.

"Women Talkin' 'Bout Murder" will launch on Thursday, May 9, 2024, on the Audacy app and everywhere podcasts are available. New episodes will be released weekly through July 11, 2024. Listen to the trailer and follow the show here.

Over ten episodes, Donna and Jobeth dig into juicy cases and interview guest witnesses, experts, and suspects to get to their whodunnit. Donna can be convinced of just about anything, but Jobeth is always on high alert for the truth…and Donna's safety. Guest stars include Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schartzman, Paula Pell, Will Forte, Lisa Gilroy, Craig Cackowski, John Lutz.

"Women Talkin' 'Bout Murder" is Executive Produced by Amy Poehler, Liz Cackowski, Jenna Weiss-Berman, Leah Reis-Dennis, and Adam Pincus of Best Case Studios.

The show is the third installment in a three-season improvised comedy franchise from Audacy and Amy Poehler's Paper Kite Productions, under the Paper Kite Podcasts banner. The franchise features stories that parody and pay homage to popular themes in the podcast space with characters and stories living in the same interwoven universe.

The first installment, "Say More with Dr? Sheila," stars Poehler as a fictional world-class therapist and life coach with questionable methods and credentials. The critically acclaimed series was released in September 2023, hit #1 on the Apple Podcasts comedy chart, and was named by the New York Times as one of the "Best Podcasts of 2023." The second, "The Chris Chatman Do-Over," stars Ike Barinholtz as a controversial shock jock striving to improve his reputation.

"Emily and Liz are hilarious, Jenna and Audacy continue to rule, and true crime podcasts are the best," said Amy Poehler.

"We love true crime, we love improv, and we love talking to each other, so this is the dream job," said Liz Cackowski and Emily Spivey.

"We're incredibly proud of the Paper Kite Podcasts slate we've created with Amy and her team, and Liz and Emily's sharp wit and hilarious approach to satirizing the ever-popular murder podcast genre make this series a treat for listeners everywhere," said Jenna Weiss-Berman, EVP, Audacy Podcasts. "Aligning with talent like Amy creates must-listen content for our listeners and delivers appealing advertising opportunities for clients."
