CAE Healthcare to showcase customer-centric educational ecosystem at IMSH 2023

As part of a continued commitment to enhance medical outcomes and create a safer society, CAE Healthcare will join healthcare professionals from around the world at the 2023 International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) in Orlando, Florida, Jan. 21-25.

"The future of healthcare simulation begins at IMSH," said Jeff Evans, President, CAE Healthcare. "And as a leader in the space, we look forward to demonstrating how our integrated solutions based on physiological modeling, data-informed decision-making, connected digital platforms and advanced simulation technologies better support a holistic learner journey and prepare medical professionals for the moments that matter."

During the three exhibition days, CAE Healthcare will be located at Booth 101 to showcase its innovative and integrated educational ecosystem featuring patient simulation, ultrasound simulation, digital learning solutions and simulation center management to enhance insights, increase efficiency, advance learner competence and increase patient safety.

Exploring a holistic learner journey, attendees will get the chance to observe how CAE Healthcare products work together to create an integrated ecosystem.

CAE Ares, a mid-fidelity manikin designed to respond to various levels of basic and advanced emergency care, will demonstrate its connection to CAE Medicor, an expansive line of simulation enhancements and clinical skills trainers, as well as CAE SimEquip, a portfolio of simulated medical devices that mirrors medical equipment and supports resuscitation, ventilation and anesthesia practices.

Ultrasound education will also take place during the immersive walkthrough, with CAE VimedixAR for cardiac, lung, and OB-GYN practices. Attendees can also practice ultrasound-guided procedures with CAE Blue Phantom.

Participants will experience realistic and customized clinical experiences using the instructor-led virtual learning platform, CAE Maestro Evolve, and self-directed platform, CAE Embody. They'll see how to develop, manage and share scenarios using CAE iRIS, a web-based scenario-development solution that helps educators easily design high-quality training scenarios in collaboration with their peers.

Binding these simulation practices is CAE LearningSpace, which provides educators a full view of their simulation training environment, learner performance and educational outcomes.

During the meeting, CAE Healthcare will also present a learning lab focused on mixed reality. The session will evaluate short- and long-term knowledge retention and provide a live demo for hands-on training.

Additionally, Dr. Amar Patel, Chief Learning Officer at CAE Healthcare, will lead a four-hour immersive course to demonstrate how practices learned in aviation training can apply to healthcare. During the session, attendees will have the opportunity to fly a full-flight simulator while learning how to use flight safety protocols and checklists to elevate patient safety.

"Through the use of simulation, the aviation industry reduced the number of passenger deaths from one death every 1 million miles to one death every 1 billion miles," said Patel. "Simulation can drive similar progress in healthcare. Because we are part of CAE, a widely recognized aviation training leader, we can provide this unique opportunity to illustrate the connection between these two industries and how the lessons learned can elevate patient safety."

In addition to the immersive booth and educational leadership, CAE Healthcare will see Melissa Lowther, AVS Product Sales Specialist, be inducted as a Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) Fellow. This honor is bestowed on members of SSH who have made outstanding contributions to the field of healthcare simulation.
