Hoover Hosts Ribbon Cutting for Library Project

Hoover High School will celebrate the completion of a more than $6 million library renovation project that also incorporates spaces for a variety of student services. The project was funded by Measure M (passed in 2020) and Measure X (passed in 2016). Along with modernization of the library, the project includes:

  • Campus culture room and student store for schoolwide activities
  • Career center that includes an office for a job developer to support students with career opportunities while in school and beyond
  • Counseling center where students can meet with academic counselors for help with college applications, student aid and checking academic progress
  • Pate Support Center, a new group of offices to house the Project ACCESS social worker for students experiencing homelessness and those in foster care, social workers, regional instruction manager for special education, school psychologists, All-4-Youth social worker and restorative practices counselor

Speakers will include Superintendent Bob Nelson, trustee Claudia Cazares and Hoover student body president Robyn Aysayavong.

"With the completion of the Hoover library project, our students and staff have a much more modern facility that brings a variety of student services together under one roof. Our students will now have easy access to support for both their academic and social-emotional needs," said Superintendent Bob Nelson.
