Make plans to celebrate Spring at ColorPalooza 2019: A Celebration of Spring on Saturday, April 6, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., in and around Wayne Ferguson Plaza, 150 W. Church Street.
ColorPalooza: A Celebration of Spring is a family-friendly, outdoor event designed to showcase the rich cultural, artistic, and eco-friendly spirit of Lewisville.
Attendees will experience a day of exciting new attractions along with creative, educative, and hands-on art activities and displays in Old Town Lewisville. Several cultural music groups will add the soundtrack to an eventful day in the sun.
CompostHaste will be providing composting at our event this year. Bins will be provided for patrons to dispose of food wastes, paper and other organic materials. All collections will be organically composted and kept out of the landfill. Helpers will be onsite to talk about what can go in these bins and how this effort is helping ColorPalooza become a green, sustainable, zero waste event!
The North Central Texas Council of Governments will be working with local auto dealers to provide an electric vehicle Ride and Drive opportunity. This will feature educational information about electric vehicles as well as the opportunity to experience various makes and models up close, even taking a test drive on site!
Musical groups Mariachi Rosas Divinas, La Pompe (American and French jazz), Fiddle Rascals (bluegrass), and BeMYFiasco (R&B singer) will perform on the Lone Star Toyota stage in Wayne Ferguson Plaza, entertaining visitors with different genres of music.
Cultural performance groups Zaara Belly Dance, Alm y Corazon Tejano Ballet Folklorico, Bandan Koro, Grace Hula Dance, Jagoda Dance Ensemble, and Milaana Dance will entertain festival-goers throughout the day from the City Hall stage.
Several traditional crowd favorites like DIY tie-dye station presented by Kris T's, Painting with a Twist, a kids art section with Teaching Artist Network, a petting zoo, pet art, and a Kids Zone presented by CareNow will help amateur artists express their inner creativity.
Eco-Alley presented by Champion Windows will be set up this year allowing eco-friendly organizations and companies to demonstrate and educate attendees how to live an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
Admission to the festival is free, although some activities may include a nominal fee. For more information and a complete rundown of the day's events, please visit lewisvillecolorpalooza.com.
