The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today provided details on service highlights for the upcoming Labor Day holiday weekend across New York City Transit, Long Island Rail Road, Metro-North Railroad, Access-A-Ride, and Bridges and Tunnels. The railroads are adding a few early-getaway trains to help New Yorkers get an early start on the three-day weekend.
Service details for each agency are below:
Long Island Rail Road
On Saturday, August 31, the LIRR will operate on a normal Saturday schedule. On Sunday, Sept. 1, the LIRR will operate on a Saturday schedule.
On Monday, Sept. 2, the LIRR will operate on a weekend/holiday schedule with Montauk Branch trains running on a Sunday schedule. To highlight:
On Tuesday, Sept. 3, the 7:18 a.m. train from Montauk to Hunterspoint Ave, which usually runs on summer Mondays, is instead scheduled to run on Tuesday for those returning to New York City after the long holiday weekend.

Metro-North Railroad
Metro-North will have service adjustments on both the East and West of Hudson Lines for the Labor Day weekend.
East of Hudson
Extra trains will operate on both Thursday and Friday on Metro-North's three East of Hudson lines.
Hudson Line
On the Hudson Line, Metro-North Railroad will operate three early-getaway trains on Friday, Aug. 30, to allow customers to get an early start on the holiday weekend.
The Hudson Rail Link buses will meet the 1:51 p.m. early-getaway train at Spuyten Duyvil and Riverdale stations for their routes throughout the respective neighborhoods. The Hudson Rail Link bus service will not operate on Labor Day.
The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will operate early-getaway service and will meet the 2:43 p.m. local and 3:21 p.m. express train departures from Grand Central. The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will not operate on Labor Day.
The Newburgh-Beacon Ferry will operate early-getaway service and will meet the 2:43 p.m., 3:18 p.m. and 3:48 p.m. departures from Grand Central. Newburgh-Beacon Ferry customers who normally ride the 5:30 p.m. Poughkeepsie express from Grand Central, should ride the 5:32 p.m. Poughkeepsie express, which will connect with the ferry at Beacon. The Newburgh-Beacon Ferry will not operate on Labor Day.
Harlem Line
On the Harlem Line, Metro-North Railroad will operate two early-getaway trains:
New Haven Line
On the New Haven Line, there will be three early-getaway trains and one service change:
Metro-North's East of Hudson lines will operate a normal Saturday schedule on Saturday, Aug. 31, and a Sunday schedule on both Sunday, Sept. 1, and Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2. Normal weekday service resumes on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
West of Hudson
Pascack Valley Line
On Friday, Aug. 30, customers who ride the 5:25 p.m. connecting train from New York Penn Station to Secaucus Junction to board the 5:43 p.m. Pascack Valley Line train to Spring Valley, arriving at 6:26 p.m., please note that the connecting train will depart New York Penn Station 5 minutes earlier, at 5:20 p.m. instead of at 5:25 p.m.
Port Jervis Line
On Friday, Aug. 30, the 2:41 p.m. train from Hoboken Terminal to Middletown, NY will be extended to Port Jervis, making stops at Otisville and Port Jervis.
Because of lower ridership in the late afternoon, the 6:14 p.m. train from Hoboken Terminal to Port Jervis will not operate.
On Monday, Sept. 2, an extra train departs Port Jervis at 4:05 p.m., making all stops through Suffern, then express to Secaucus Junction and Hoboken, arriving at Hoboken at 6:24 p.m., with a connecting train at Secaucus Junction to New York Penn Station arriving New York at 6:33 p.m.

MTA Bridges and Tunnels
Routine maintenance and construction at all MTA Bridges and Tunnels crossings will cease at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29.
Daytime scheduled maintenance requiring full lane closures will be suspended beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30 through 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Critical roadwork may be permitted during overnight hours at times when traffic permits. Maximum roadway availability will be maintained during times of peak travel.
Customers are advised to check any of the MTA's multiple communications channels listed below before traveling.
New York City Transit
Beginning 11:30 p.m. Friday, Aug 30 through 5:00 a.m. Monday, Sept 2, there will be no train service between 3 Av-149 St and 96 St due to track replacement. Service will operate in two sections:
Between Wakefield-241 St and 3 Av-149 St, every 12 minutes, days and evenings
Between 96 St and Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College.

Beginning at 9:45 p.m. Friday, Aug 30 through 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept 3, trains make all local stops in both directions on 8th Avenue between 59 St and West 4 St. All and trains operate via the line between West 4 St in Manhattan and Jay St-MetroTech in Brooklyn in both directions.
For additional travel alternatives this weekend, including shuttle bus service, customers are encouraged to visit the MTA app or the https://new.mta.info/.
During the Labor Day Weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, the subway will run on a regular weekend schedule. On Labor Day, the subway will run on a Sunday schedule. That means there will be no service on the and trains, no express ortrains, and no express trains in Brooklyn.
On Monday, Sept. 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., trains skip Eastern Pkwy-Brooklyn Museum in both directions for the West Indian American Parade. Customers are advised to use the nearby Grand Army Plaza or Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College stations instead.
New York City buses will operate on a regular weekend schedule on Saturday and Sunday. On Labor Day, buses will run on a Sunday schedule.
Access-A-Ride Paratransit
Access-A-Ride customers may make reservations 7 days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by calling Access-A-Ride at (877) 337-2017 or (718) 393-4999 and pressing prompt #2, online at https://new.mta.info/accessibility/paratransit, or via the MTA app.
The Access-A-Ride Command Center operates 24/7 to assist customers on the day of trip, such as confirming a reservation or ascertaining a vehicle's estimated time of arrival. Customers should call (877) 337-2017 or (718) 393-4999 and press prompt #5.
