The Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD) was honored as the #2 Fundraising Police Department for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Northern California. Throughout the year law enforcement agencies host a wide variety of fundraising events. Over the past year, $417,421 was raised for Special Olympics Northern California.

SCPD received the award last week in Morgan Hill at the annual Kick-Off conference for the Torch Run. The award was presented to Community Service Officer Alexis Morales for her efforts to coordinate the events that led to SCPD's honor.
