New Tour Ticket Provider Selected for Natchez Visitor Center at Natchez National Historical Park

The National Park Service (NPS) has selected Warren Reuther, Jr. (doing business as Natchez.com) to provide event and tour ticketing services at the recently NPS-acquired Natchez Visitor Center in Natchez, Mississippi, through a five-year lease beginning December 1, 2021. The awarding of this new lease concludes 23 years of ticket sales by the City of Natchez at the Natchez Visitor Reception Center.

"We look forward to working with Mr. Reuther and his staff to develop the best possible experience for the many visitors who travel to Natchez National Historical Park and drive the Natchez Trace Parkwa each year-we hope that by making the Natchez Visitor Center their first stop, visitors will find an abundance of local attractions to fill a stay of several days," said Natchez National Hisorical Park Superintendent Kathleen Bond. "The ticket sales proposal by Natchez.com expressed a strong commitment to provide quality products and exceptional services that are in alignment with the mission of the National Park Service."

Information and promotional tourism services under the new lease include:

  • Visitor Information
  • Tours and Ticketing Sales
  • Maps
  • Hotel Reservations
  • Local Event and Historical information
The new lease also provides updates to the facility including the installation of large TV's showing promotional video behind a consolidated ticket counter and new wayfair signs around town to guide people to the Natchez Visitor Center.

Additionally, the lobby of the Natchez Visitor Center includes a wall of permanent exhibits which orients visitors to Natchez history and a temporary exhibits developed by Ser Seshah Ab Heter-CM Boxly that explains the signifigance of the park's newest unit, Forks of the Road enslavement market site. At the end of November, these exhibits will be joined by a temporary display of potential development designs for the Forks of the Road site created by architectural students from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

The Mississippi Development Authority State Welcome Center, Eastern National, Open Air Tours and Rev's Country Tours continue to operate within the Natchez Visitor Center.
