‘Coach’s Corner’ covers incredible documentary inspired by a young man’s perseverance and Mission Viejo filmmaker’s heart

Landis Sims was 9 years old when he first visited Mission Viejo as part of the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team Kids Camp. He was born without hands and parts of his lower extremity. However, that never slowed Landis down.

While playing with the softball team, his infectious energy and love of the game earned him many new friends as well as an interview on Mission Viejo Television's "Coach's Corner with Paul Higgins."

At the camp, he and his mother also met Eric Cochran, a documentary filmmaker from Mission Viejo who saw a fascinating story to tell the world about Landis and his exceptional drive to be the best baseball player he could be. None of them knew that meeting would evolve into a 7-year journey and incredible film.

As they put the final touches on their upcoming documentary "Landis Just Watch Me," the pair sat down for another episode of "Coach's Corner with Paul Higgins " to talk about how life has changed for all of them and the inspirational efforts Landis has made to see his dreams realized.

Don't miss this special episode airing now on the City's YouTube Channel and on MVTV, available on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T Channel 99.
