Provide Feedback on Raleigh-Wake 911 Center

The Raleigh-Wake Emergency Communications Center is asking the public to provide feedback on how the center complies with industry standards and delivers public safety services. The deadline to provide feedback is July 31. Asking residents for comments is an annual requirement related to the center's accreditation process.

The center is looking to receive comments regarding its:

  • compliance with CALEA standards (please see below);
  • engagement in the service community;
  • delivery of public safety services; and,
  • overall candidacy for accredited status.

Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with specific standards in seven basic areas. They are:

  • organization;
  • direction and supervision;
  • human resources;
  • recruitment, selection and promotion;
  • training;
  • operations; and,
  • critical incidents, special operations, and Homeland Security.

For more information about the standards, visit the CALEA website.

How Can I Provide Comments?
The comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide the agency, such as the Raleigh-Wake ECC, with information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence.
